About Us

We are a homeschooling family of 4, my hubby (Anthony) and I (Michelle), and our two young boys ages 3 (Michael) and 7 (Branden). We started homeschooling in 2007 - right before Branden, our oldest went into kindergarten. Most of the reasons for our decision to homeschool are Here and Here!

We are in a local homeschool group in our area which has made this year a lot more fun than it was last year. I searched around for a good group last year, but folks were either far away, or just a tad to “religious” for our blood. Not that we don’t believe in God, and teach our boys about God and religion, we just don’t want to do EVERYTHING in a religious or “church” setting.

This year however, it seems we have found the perfect group for our family!

Through our local homeschool group, not only have we been able to meet some really nice people - they have many different functions for the kids to get into. Branden just started Art Class with a certified teacher on Monday, Sept. 15 - 2008. There were about 20 other kids in the class, plus the little kids have their own play room with toys to mess with while the older kids are in class.

Branden initially wanted to take “Tap class” - but has changed his mind into an Art Class instead. He’ll also be starting “choir” next week. There are acting classes, science classes, play dates, hiking meets, zoo functions, and more. Anything you can think of, a good homeschool group can help you find it.

Not only that - they share resources, like where to get a certified teacher to evaluate your kiddos at the end of each year. Here in Ohio, we have to get our boys tested, and we submit info to the school board every year after Kindergarten. We didn’t have to submit last year, but this year we will.
